SSF are ISO9001 accredited. ISO 9001 is the globally recognised standard for quality management systems , providing a framework for organisations to consistently deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It emphasises continuous improvement, a process approach, and a focus on customer satisfaction.

BS EN 1090
BS EN 1090 is a legal requirement to ensure the safety and compliance of products through rigorous manufacturing requirements and conformity assessments, offering customer reassurance for the integrity of their structural steelwork.
- SSF are a UKCA Certified fabricator to Execution Class 2 for fabricated products in accordance with BS EN 1090-2 for load bearing and structural steel components. The UKCA mark is equivalent to the European CE mark.
- SSF have a detailed Factory Production Control system in place which covers key production aspects including ‘Calibration and Maintenance’, ‘Verification of purchased product’ and traceability of material’. This includes ensuring all material received is issued with an inspection cert to EN 10204 3.1
- Welding approved to procedures EN 15614-1 (Standard) EN 15613 (Non-Standard) EN 17660-1 (Reinforcement steel for load-bearing joints)
- Welders qualified to ISO 9606-1
- In house qualified PCN level 2 NDT technicians in Dye pen and Magnetic particle inspection to ensure quality control.
- Third party NDT carried out and exceeding the requirements of BS EN1090 In methods including Dye pen, Magnetic particle, UT and Phased UT
- In house qualified visual weld inspectors and responsible welding coordinators
- Third party responsible welding coordinators and CSWIP level 3.2.1 senior welding inspectors, who carry our regular inspections of welds at SSF
ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System
ISO 14001:2015 ensures that SSF is identifying, managing, monitoring and controlling their environmental concerns in a ‘holistic’ manner. ISO 14001:2015 requires that businesses should consider all environmental aspects important to its operations.

FORS Silver
SSF have achieved Silver accreditation from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), a voluntary accreditation scheme which encompasses all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. Silver accreditation is awarded to operators who maintain their Bronze accreditation and are able to demonstrate that they have developed driver licencing verification systems, vehicles are fitted with blind spot minimisation devices and those over 3.5 tonnes are equipped with a left turn audible warning system.
